What’s in the kit?

We hire out a kit that contains all the tools listed below.

In addition to some tools you’ll already have (e.g. a drill, spirit level, pipe wrench, etc) this should be pretty much all you need to properly install a typical pre-gassed domestic mini-split air conditioning unit.

These tools will help ensure that when your unit is commissioned it’s both leak and moisture free - just as a professional installation should be.

The total retail cost of all the tools included in this kit is in the region of £1000 - you can see why hiring makes sense when you consider that most other than the torque wrench have limited utility outside of AC installation.

The kit doesn’t include consumable materials you may need such as copper pipe, insulation, trunking, electrical cables or isolation switch.

To perform a pressure test you’ll need to purchase suitable inert gas and a regulator separately. Toolstation parts 35286 and 41163 should be suitable for testing up to 60PSI using Argon.
